In the late 1980’s, new best friends, the late Col. Wendell Stevens (Ret.) and Bob Brown, realized that virtually all UFO and paranormal themed conventions being offered at the time were both overpriced, and were not being done respectfully. At most of these conventions,  2 or more speakers were presenting at the same time, forcing them to compete against each other for the audience. So these events were disrespectful to both the speakers presenting and the public who was attending. Bob and Wendell saw people getting migraines and ulcers due to their frustration at not being able to hear every speaker they wanted to hear, no matter how many extra workshop tickets they could afford.

Unfortunately, today many conferences have regressed, reverting to offering multiple speakers presenting at the same time, competing for their audience. Total disrespect for the speakers and the public! In addition, most of these events are way overpriced. This is why, in the last few years, scores of colleagues and friends urged Bob to bring back an affordable, quality, week-long UFO/Contact event, produced with the same standards, goals and intentions that he and Wendell first identified when establishing the original International UFO Congress. In 2018, Bob finally agreed that it was now time to stop the madness and once again offer the world the kind of conference he and Wendell first envisioned in the late 1980’s. He partnered with Gordon Pekrul to bring the world the Laughlin UFO Mega Conference. Bob and Gordon are privileged to have 2 great men sitting alongside them on the conference’s Board of Directors. Jonny Enoch and Jordan Pease  play a key role in ensuring that every Laughlin UFO Mega Conference brings the world the best new (often unknown) speakers. If you see them in Laughlin, please say hello, and extend a “thank you” for all of their hard work on your behalf. This will be appreciated by both Bob and Gordon.
